Senior Accountant
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries with complete supporting records to ensure the general ledger remains accurate and well documented.
- Perform reconciliations for balance sheet and bank accounts, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items within established timelines.
- Lead key activities tied to monthly and annual close cycles, including accruals, deferrals, and supporting financial schedules.
- Review accounting treatment for a range of transactions and apply appropriate guidance in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal controls designed to support dependable financial reporting and compliance.
- Provide audit support by assembling schedules, organizing requested documentation, and addressing questions from internal and external auditors.
- Evaluate accounting workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process enhancements that improve accuracy, consistency, and productivity.
- Help draft, refine, and maintain accounting policies and procedures that promote strong financial governance and standardized practices.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3+ years of public accounting experience
- Medical industry experience preferred
- CPA or CPA in process
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
