Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will oversee all aspects of lease accounting and reporting in compliance with ASC 842.

About the Role

This role plays a key part in month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit support, while serving as the subject-matter expert for operating and finance leases across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lease accounting under ASC 842, including: Initial lease recognition, Lease modifications, remeasurements, and terminations, Right-of-use (ROU) asset and lease liability calculations
• Maintain and administer the lease accounting system, LeaseQuery
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll forwards related to leases
• Ensure accurate classification of operating vs. finance leases
• Partner with other departments to review new lease agreements and identify accounting impacts and ensure proper setup
• Serve as point of contact for external auditors for lease-related inquiries
• Identify opportunities to improve lease accounting processes, documentation, and controls
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management
• Assume other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; 5+ years of progressive accounting; Strong hands-on experience with ASC 842 lease accounting; Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Oracle Fusion; Experience with LeaseQuery; Experience with multi-entity or multi-location environment; Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas); Critical thinking and analytical skills; Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines; Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization; Strong teamwork and technical skills; Ability to work independently and effectively in a hybrid environment
