Description

The Senior Accountant at Liberty Diversified International (LDI) plays a crucial role in reviewing and analyzing routine and complex accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and delivering timely and accurate financial reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate P&L and Balance Sheet accounting in compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring all subsidiary accounts are properly reconciled in alignment with LDI's accounting policies.
  • Partnersing closely with plant personnel and the Liberty Packaging Finance team to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
  • Leading or supporting cross-functional projects, including systems upgrades and enhancements.
  • Serving as a technical expert on accounting matters and systems enhancements.
  • Identifying and recommending process improvements and resolving issues.

Duties And Responsibilities

To fulfill these roles, the Senior Accountant performs the following duties:

  • Performing month-end close procedures and preparing general ledger reconciliations.
  • Preparing and recording journal entries.
  • Supporting the annual audit process, including coordination with external auditors, preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation, and addressing audit inquiries.
  • Aiding the department in creating and updating accounting process documentation.
  • Ensuring accuracy and reliability of data to support business decision-making.
  • Leading or supporting cross-functional projects, including systems upgrades and enhancements.
  • Serving as a technical accounting resource for complex transactions and system-related matters.
  • Partnering with plant personnel and the Packaging Finance team to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
  • Promoting continuous improvement in project management and accounting processes by identifying, designing, and implementing best-practice solutions from other LDI locations.

Required Education, Experience And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in general financial accounting and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in general ledger accounting, financial consolidation, technical accounting research, and audit procedures.
  • Strong project management capabilities and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.
  • Experience supporting system upgrades or enhancements.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting base salary range for this position is $88,226 - $110,282 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below the posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to, education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
