About the role
A national healthcare organization that operates a diverse network of hospitals and care services across the United States is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their esteemed financial department. This is a permanent, full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Manage the process of financial forecasting and budgets, and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
- Conduct regular ledger processes and reconciliations.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
- Cook up year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
- Review and analyze financial data for accuracy, correctness, and completeness.
- Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
- Monitor and mentor junior staff and assist in hiring, training, and evaluating employees.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Proven experience in financial forecasting and financial analysis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
- A high level of integrity, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to recognize and resolve problems.
