Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Senior Accountant to join our team. This position will be integral in supporting our finance and accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Cook up and execute the month-end and year-end close process.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses.
- Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.
- Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments.
- Forecasting and budgeting of operational costs.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including cash receipts and expenditure, accounts payable and receivable, cash forecasting, and revenue and expenditure variance analysis.
- Cook up and oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure timely and accurate compliance.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close process, including revenue recognition, expense review, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
- Oversee and manage all general ledger activity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Proven experience as a senior accountant with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of audit and internal controls, vendor management, and contract management.
- Experience with multiple entities and subsidiary ledgers.
- Demonstrated ability to improve and streamline processes to increase efficiency and improve results.
