A growing, multi-state construction and development firm is seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to join its Phoenix-based finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in construction accounting, job costing, and multi-entity financial management.

Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities and states
- Perform construction job cost accounting, ensuring proper cost allocation and project tracking
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Aid with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job cost reporting
- Support year-end audits and tax preparation
- Help improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to support leadership decision-making
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting and job costing
- Hands-on experience with Sage 300 / Timberline
- Experience supporting multiple legal entities
- Solid understanding of the full accounting lifecycle
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced Excel skills and financial reporting proficiency
