About the role
The Idaho Youth Ranch is a non-profit agency dedicated to nurturing hope, healing, and resilience in Idaho's youth through various programs and services. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the agency's day-to-day operations, particularly in managing the thrift stores' finances.
Responsibilities
- Develop budgets and forecasts for the company
- Manage company leases using lease software
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
- Support grant lifecycle activities, including budget development, financial tracking, and billing
- Utilize financial systems and tools to extract, analyze, and interpret data
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5 years of experience in accounting, with progressive experience in accounting and/or financial planning
- Strong knowledge of financial budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Above average skills in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel (modeling, data analysis, and reporting)
- Understanding of general accounting principles and financial statement relationships
Preferred Experience
- Experience in financial planning and analysis within a nonprofit, grant-driven, or multi-program environment
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar integrated accounting and planning systems
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to apply them in financial analysis and reporting
- CPA license
