Senior Accountant

Position Summary

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative, and highly entrepreneurial company. The senior accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial procedures and records in accordance to US GAAP. Duties also include assuming a supervision role to guide junior accountants, reviewing financial data, and acting as a cross-functional collaborator between departments and management.

Duties

• Maintain the monthly close process: journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis across business units
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
• Support revenue recognition across multiple business lines (equipment sales, services, subscription-based monitoring programs)
• Manage the accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) processes
• Manage cash flow process
• Participate regularly in meetings/presentations and, at times, facilitate
• Create ad-hoc reports and analysis for various business needs
• Help support and supervise junior accountants

Qualifications and Experience

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Passion for growing a focused renewable energy business with a team that believes the climate impact of the business drives strong growth
• A team player with strong communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA track a plus
• Proficient working knowledge of US GAAP
• NetSuite experience a plus
• Strong skills in spreadsheets and other computer applications used in financial reports and analysis, with emphasis on Excel / Google Sheets
