Senior Accountant
About the role
Fusion Education Group is a fast-growing organization with a nationwide network of private middle and high schools (grades 5–12). We're seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support month-end close, financial reporting, and analyses.
Responsibilities
- Timely completion of month-end close tasks, including preparation of journal entries, variance analysis, and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review complex balance sheet account reconciliations, including supporting schedules, investigation, and resolution of reconciling items
- Perform financial analysis to evaluate performance, identify trends, and highlight opportunities for improvement
- Partner with other business units to support accurate financial reporting and resolve accounting issues
- Manage large volumes of financial data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and process changes, including data validation
- Adeptly manage compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
- Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Perform other duties and ad hoc analyses, as assigned
Requirements
2+ years of public accounting or 4 years of general accounting experience
Strong analytical skills and intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
Experience with systems (e.g., NetSuite, Great Plains, SalesForce)
High attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of financial data accurately
Process-oriented mindset with an understanding of downstream impacts
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and resolve complex issues
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
A self-motivated, continuous improvement mindset, accountability, and a can-do attitude
Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
