About the role
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting within a complex, multi-entity healthcare organization. Reporting to the Controller, this individual will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Lead key accounting processes including consolidations, overhead allocations, accrual analysis, and general ledger activity
- Support regulatory compliance efforts, including cost reports, grant reporting, audits, and tax-related filings
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve financial reporting accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and support operational decision-making
- Perform detailed financial analysis, research complex accounting issues, and apply appropriate accounting treatment across diverse scenarios
- Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance for general ledger staff and accounting processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience (public accounting or healthcare experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, with experience in Workday accounting systems (required)
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, with experience in Workday accounting systems
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
