About the role
The Senior Accountant role is a key member of the small and collaborative finance team at EarthKind, a local manufacturer of no-kill botanical pest repellents. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position involves a mix of detailed accounting and time-sensitive responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Execute and reconcile working papers for month-end close
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts using NetSuite and advanced Excel
- Manage payroll, accruals, and biweekly processing; renew and reconcile tax filings; prepare journal entries
- Analyze budgets vs. actuals
- Report and manage cash accurately and in a timely manner
- Report sales tax and maintain compliance across all states
- Analyze time and efficiency (FTE reporting)
- Manage 401(k) plans, Section 125 plans, ERISA, and unemployment reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Solid knowledge of GAAP, sales tax, ERISA, and applicable compliance requirements
- Advanced Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros)
- Detail orientation, critical thinking, and analytical reasoning
- Comfort with repetitive tasks and resourcefulness in problem-solving
- Reliable time management and the ability to reprioritize on the fly
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Paycor experience
- Project management, budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning experience
- Experience improving financial processes or workflows

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
