Senior Accountant
About the role
Axos Bank Target Range: $75,000.00/Yr. - $90,000.00/Yr. Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, and process documents
- Prepare and review journal entries to properly account for general ledger activity
- Analyze and document financial statement variances monthly, quarterly, and yearly
- Prepare reconciliations for general ledger accounts and roll-forward schedules
- Act as super-user for ERP, financial and banking systems
- Aid in integration and automation of financial applications
- Collaborate with business units and accounting personnel on forecasting/budget requirements
- Review SOX documentation for accounting and provide best practice guidance
- Prepare financial reporting workbook related to deposit accounts
- Provide information and documents to internal auditors, external auditors, and regulators
- Coordinate and gather support for complex accounting projects and reporting initiatives
- Train and mentor Junior Staff Accountants and Interns
- Perform special projects, as requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 2+ years' public accounting or 4+ years' industry full cycle experience
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Highly detailed oriented and organized
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, sumifs and data manipulation
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy legislation
Preferred
- Public accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant License
- Oracle Cloud Financial Institution experience
- GAAP and SOX
