Senior Accountant
Role Overview
The ideal Senior Accountant candidate is a resourceful problem solver who will take ownership of critical accounting tasks and will be a key player in ensuring the accounting and reporting function will scale and support the company’s rapid growth. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key to the success of the Senior Accountant. This is a work from home position with location preference in the San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Southern California, New York City, Austin, and Boston. Some travel to in-person company events is required, approximately 2-3 weeks out of the year. In-person onboarding training will take place within the first 3 months of employment (locations vary).
Responsibilities
- Perform day to day accounting duties in AP, AR, cash management, payroll, FA, GL and other duties as assigned
- Aid with the monthly close process by posting monthly journal entries, performing account reconciliations and ad-hoc financial analysis
- Aid in maintaining regular contact and building solid working relationships with various groups to ensure a high level of customer service and work product
- Aid on projects and ad hoc assignments as needed
Requirements
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Experience with standard software solutions preferred, for example: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, Carta
- Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Fast learner with high degree of professional curiosity and desire to learn
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience implementing workflow automation or AI-enabled tools preferred. Familiarity with generative AI tools and automation platforms strongly preferred
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Preferred: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced technology, or professional services environment
