Responsibilities
- Reporting
- Responsible for the management of daily accounting functions and financial reporting in compliance with generally acceptable accounting principles (GAAP)
- Manage the monthly closing function including timely preparation and distribution of the monthly financial statements
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, bank reconciliations, GL account reconciliations and financial statements
- Maintain lease accounting under ASC 842 including system administration of LeaseQuery
- Track capital expenditures and commitments to provide a monthly status update on each CER
- Review budgeted projects in CIP on a quarterly basis and alert management if a project appears to be going over budget or will not complete by year-end
- Maintain fixed asset register. Reconcile fixed asset subledger to general ledger
- Manage process for disposal of assets and putting new assets into service
- Develop reporting for business partners and support internal customers in understanding the financial facts behind business decisions
- Lead quarterly inventory review with management. Reconcile inventory records with third-party warehouse
- Review and approve Authorizations For Destruction (AFD)
- Cook off year-end inventory testing with outside auditors
- Prepare and/or review weekly and monthly reports (inventory, backlog, bookings, anticipated sales, working capital)
- Own and develop monthly reporting to senior leadership
- Budget and Forecasting
- Assist with budget and forecasting activities and timeline for COE
- Own variances to budget and report out variances to senior leadership
- Partner with business functions to accurately budget and forecast by business function
- Prepare annual expense forecast as input to the annual budget process
- Cash/Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
- Reconciliation of payroll accounts
- Credit card management and reconciliation
- Own daily cash balances, entry and/or approval of ACHs/Wires, and monthly cash projection consolidation
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as needed, including processing invoices, check run and supplier finance administration
Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 3+ years of Accounting experience, preferably within a Manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Skills and Abilities: Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization. Owns responsibilities and projects, with dedication to driving and achieving results. Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Superior organizational skills, high degree of accuracy, and strong attention to detail. Competent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite with prior experience in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred. Experienced in Excel, including analyzing large sets of data and joining data from multiple sources. Ability to handle confidential information. Understanding of US GAAP, general accounting, and internal controls. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Mathematical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting and finance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
