Responsibilities
- Lead monthly close process and prepare accurate financial statements
- Oversee AR/AP and daily transaction processing
- Reconcile general ledger and maintain audit-ready books
- Prepare and file Hawaii General Excise Tax returns
- Monitor client budgets, analyze variances, and present financial insights
- Support tax filings and external audits by liaising with third-party CPAs as needed
- Build strong client relationships with a focus on responsiveness and clarity
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture
- Prepare and deliver multi-dimensional financial reports tailored to client needs
- Manage fund and program tracking, including grant and restricted fund reporting where applicable
- Support single audit readiness and compliance reporting as needed
- Prepare board and management reporting packages and client-facing financial presentations
- Mentor and review the work of Associate-level staff, supporting their development and accuracy
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of accounting experience; public accounting, outsourced accounting, or industry roles with complex reporting requirements preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct, experience with configuration, report editing, and multi-dimensional reporting preferred
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Demonstrated ability to build lasting client relationships and support client retention
- Comfortable guiding and reviewing the work of junior staff with a coaching mindset
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
