Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Aid in acquisition, development, and construction loan tracking.
- Create financial schedules, supporting worksheets, and account analyses.
- Review and approve real estate settlement statements and closing documents.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory and land development costs.
- Support the preparation of project pro formas and financial analyses.
- Prepare property tax documentation and monitor tax payments for multiple entities.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
- Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and financial records.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Ensure financial transactions are accurately coded and recorded.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
- Aid in internal controls and recommend process improvements.
- Support external audits and provide requested financial documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Aid in special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience (construction or real estate experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with accounting software; construction accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
