About the role

The Senior Account Manager position at Nexeo Plastics drives profitable growth in a defined territory by providing solutions to current and customer acquisitions. This role requires strategic planning, building and managing a sales pipeline, collaborating across teams, developing partnerships, and demonstrating market and technical acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Strategize Your Territory: Develop and execute a plan to exceed sales goals, understand potential customer targets, and leverage Nexeo’s supplier base and product offerings.
  • Build and Manage Your Sales Pipeline: Prospect, qualify, and prioritize prospects using CRM and other Nexeo tools to drive opportunities forward.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with colleagues in pricing, operations, service, and legal to identify and present solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Drive Partnership & Leadership: Build relationships internally and within the customer organization, fostering long-term business growth.
  • Own Your Territory: Utilize deep market and technical knowledge to build a robust pipeline, manage the sales cycle proactively, and negotiate win-win solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering, chemistry, business, or a related field)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plastics distribution sales or a related industry
  • Proven ability to prospect and acquire new customers, consistently achieving long-term sales growth
  • Adept at using logic and reasoning to solve problems and identify alternative solutions
  • Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP) and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
