Primary Responsibilities
- Sells and develops new business through field promotional work.
- Develops data relative to marketing trends, competitive products, and pricing.
- Submits marketing reports to management.
- Prepares and submits reports on sales and marketing activities.
- Investigates product/service warranty claims and ensures resolution of customer complaints.
Essential Functions
- Develops long-term relationships with end users to become a trusted business partner and advisor.
- Educates customers on fire safety and other applicable codes.
- Becomes a consultant and resource to customers for protecting their organization and employees.
- Strategically approaches business development by focusing on key vertical markets.
- Develops a healthy pipeline by working with existing major accounts, developing new territories, and offering new products and services.
- Uses company CRM to manage pipeline and activity.
- Keeps up-to-date and is prepared to review with leadership on a routine basis.
- Demonstrates products and services and provides assistance in choosing their best application.
- Prepares quotations, terms and conditions of sale, delivery dates, and closes sales based upon customer needs and within company policies and procedures.
- Provides accurate and complete information for contract booking purposes.
- Assists Controller and Accounting Department in billing and collections where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma.
- Advanced computer skills - must be able to navigate company software, enter data, and send communication.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Works in a wide variety of industries and settings ranging from maintenance departments to C-level.
- Absolutely must be able to multi-task and stay organized.
- Urgency, agility, and responsiveness are key attributes.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and able to communicate and work amiably, professionally, and courteously with a variety of personalities.
- Often requires ability to present the appropriate level of detail to customers at different levels.
Physical Requirements & Environment
- Must be able to travel to various customers, vendors, or site locations for work, reviews, walk-thru, training, presentations, or meetings.
- Maintain valid driver’s license and record.
- All employees of IPS are subject to random drug testing per our Drug Free Safety Policy.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
