Semiconductor Maintenance Technician - Implant

About the role

The technician is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Implant equipment in the Chandler Fab area, primarily within the following tool groups:

• Implant Axcelis NV/GSD
• Applied Materials Quantum ULE
• Applied Materials E500HP
• Applied Materials VIISTA HCP
• Rebuild and repair of ION Sources, Flood Guns, Aperture Electrodes, Electromagnetic Energy Reflectors, Current PAEs, and 3-Axis Electrodes/Reflectors

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance and consumable changes
• Interface with internal and external groups to meet safety, performance, and reliability requirements
• Follow safety protocols when working with hazardous chemicals
• Complete documentation and train others as required
• Diagnose equipment alarms, read operational data, and create action plans
• Work in a high-volume manufacturing environment with minimal direction
• Use root-cause problem-solving techniques for complex semiconductor toolset issues

Requirements

• Solid understanding of SPC, 5s, and FDC systems
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours)
• Physical ability to stoop, crawl in confined spaces, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Work a compressed shift (days shifts available)

Qualifications

• AA, AS, or AAS in electronics or mechanical discipline preferred
• Experience in Implant or military training may substitute for formal education
