About the role
The technician is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Implant equipment in the Chandler Fab area, primarily within the following tool groups:
- Implant Axcelis NV/GSD
- Applied Materials Quantum ULE
- Applied Materials E500HP
- Applied Materials VIISTA HCP
- Rebuild and repair of ION Sources, Flood Guns, Aperture Electrodes, Electromagnetic Energy Reflectors, Current PAEs, and 3-Axis Electrodes/Reflectors
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Perform scheduled maintenance and consumable changes
- Interface with internal and external groups to meet safety, performance, and reliability requirements
- Follow safety protocols when working with hazardous chemicals
- Complete documentation and train others as required
- Diagnose equipment alarms, read operational data, and create action plans
- Work in a high-volume manufacturing environment with minimal direction
- Use root-cause problem-solving techniques for complex semiconductor toolset issues
Requirements
- Solid understanding of SPC, 5s, and FDC systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours)
- Physical ability to stoop, crawl in confined spaces, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Work a compressed shift (days shifts available)
Qualifications
- AA, AS, or AAS in electronics or mechanical discipline preferred
- Experience in Implant or military training may substitute for formal education
