About the role
Unity House is dedicated to supporting people with disabilities and empowering both employees and those they serve.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in learning and developing daily living skills and habits
- Help individuals take care of their own personal needs
- Advocate for, encourage, guide, and teach individuals to express personal choice
- Ensure community integration, health and safety, and a comfortable home environment
- Provide supports and services based on the specific abilities of the person being served and the nature of the setting
- Work in accordance with service plans and individual interests of the people they support
- Collaborate with the service recipient and their family, along with the employing agency, to manage the position
- Support community inclusion and work towards the individual gaining independence
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Minimum of a GED required
- Valid/acceptable driver's license required
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in accordance with service plans and individual interests of the people they support
- Must be able to work in collaboration with the service recipient and their family, along with the employing agency
- Must be able to provide supports and services based on the specific abilities of the person being served and the nature of the setting
- Must be able to work in a supportive and inclusive environment
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of daily living skills and habits
- Ability to advocate for and encourage personal choice

Pay
Hourly rate: $17 - $28
