Job Summary
As the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will be responsible for providing Cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician orders, department policies and procedures. The RRT administers respiratory care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system, performs diagnostic tests of the cardiovascular and pulmonary system to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders.
What You Will Do in This Role?
- Deliver and assess responses to ordered therapy per plan of care including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.
- Utilize various types of oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment such as masks, tents and incubators.
- Administer prescribed doses of medicinal gases and aerosol drugs.
- Measure ventilatory volumes, pressures and blood gas analysis.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and general acceptance of treatment.
- Perform a variety of duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment.
Qualifications
- ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Associate Degree
- TN (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
