About the role
The Respiratory Disease Management Program at MED-SOUTH, INC. focuses on improving patient quality of life and reducing readmission rates. Respiratory Therapists (RTs) provide personalized interventions and education tailored to each patient's specific needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide non-invasive ventilation support using Trilogy ventilators and AffloVest vests.
- Implement a high-touch follow-up and education program covering Breathing, Medication Best Practices, Activity, and Patient Self-Management.
- Develop customized reports for physicians to enhance continuity of care.
- Utilize scoring systems based on medication appropriateness, dyspnea scores, oxygen titration, and self-evaluations.
Requirements
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field, and a current license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Alabama.
Qualifications
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation techniques.
- Strong communication skills to educate patients and caregivers.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple patient cases.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
