About the role
Unity House empowers people with disabilities by providing services and supports in an inclusive, people-centered environment. Our mission is to enrich the lives of those in recovery, coping with mental illness, and/or diagnosed with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist people in learning and developing daily living skills and habits
- Help people take care of their own personal needs
- Advocate for, encourage, guide, and teach people to express personal choice
- Ensure community integration, health and safety, and a comfortable home environment
- Provide supports and services based on the specific abilities of the person being served and the nature of the setting
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Have a minimum of a GED
- Valid/acceptable driver's license
Qualifications
- Work in accordance with service plans and individual interests of the people they support
- Co-manage the position with the service recipient and their family along with the employing agency
- Include community inclusion, daily living skills, and working towards independence
