Overview

This position is located in Howard Beach, Queens, NY (remote work). The pay range is $26.25 per hour, with a standard workweek of Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Aid in and oversee the hiring process for direct support staff.
  • Conduct staff orientation and ensure all onboarding tasks are completed accurately.
  • Provide ongoing training and re-training to ensure full compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Maintain and update the employee roster daily.
  • Review and approve staff time entries, including time corrections.
  • Complete monthly time summary reviews and approvals.
  • Process payroll system approvals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with agency policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Support and implement the corrective action policy when necessary.
  • Review and approve time-off requests based on program needs.
  • Complete DSP evaluations in accordance with agency standards and timelines.
  • Review and approve staff activity fee request submissions.
  • Review and approve mileage reimbursement requests.
  • Evaluate staff activity fee submissions and mileage reimbursement requests to ensure they meet all agency and program requirements.

  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using HRIS/timekeeping systems and agency software.
  • Education and Experience: Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, prior experience in staff supervision, HR support, compliance, or program administration strongly preferred.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Payroll Systems: Knowledge of payroll systems preferred.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff at all levels.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Physical Characteristics

  • Must be capable of sitting or standing in front of a computer for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in an open space floor plan.
  • Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet.
