About the role

As a Trainer, you will develop and deliver training on a variety of security topics in support of Inter-Con operations and contracts. You will present instructional content, conduct practical exercises, and maintain compliance with internal and external mandates. Responsibilities may include research and recommendations on security program policies, analysis of new or existing security requirements, and development of training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.

Responsibilities

  • Use a standard classroom instruction format supported by an academic “Instructional System (IS)” approach.
  • Apply a systemic approach to training, ensuring programs and materials are continually reviewed, evaluated, and developed to meet evolving needs.
  • Develop training programs, PowerPoint presentations, syllabi, testing materials, and other instructional resources.
  • Utilize various training delivery methods (e.g., OJT, web-based) and types (e.g., technical, professional, team, safety).
  • Serve as a certified instructor for CPR, AED, and Adult First Aid (certifications accepted include Red Cross, ASHA, etc.).
  • Experience in de-escalation training, defensive tactics, arrest and control techniques, or hospital security is a plus.
  • Maintain compliance with Inter-Con requirements and local, state, and federal regulations regarding training and record-keeping.
  • Project a professional image, provide outstanding customer service, and demonstrate strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Act quickly and decisively to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to change in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborate as a team member and perform physical activities such as running, jumping, defensive tactical movements, and firearms instruction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Police Science, Public Safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Instructional Design or Learning Development Certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in training, education, instruction, professional development, military, or police training administration.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Fluently read, speak, comprehend, and compose coherent written material in English.
  • General computer proficiency, including experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to work outside normal duty hours to support training needs, including travel on a rotational basis.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including indoor/outdoor shooting ranges and outdoor training facilities.
  • Physically fit and able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Must meet requirements set forth by the Lautenberg Amendment.
