Security Supervisor - East Campus
About the Role
This position supervises the activities of hospital security officers on Bryan East and West campuses. Responsibilities include oversight of hospital security operations, direct supervision and on-the-job training of hospital security officers and shift leads, and ensuring full coverage of posts on the assigned campus. The role involves identifying and reporting incidents, directing and monitoring officer performance, and ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and providers.
Responsibilities

- Assists in the training of hospital security officers and reviews post orders.
- Ensures proper staffing between different assigned shifts.
- Observes and remains vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
- Responds to calls for services including escorts, property pickup, disturbances, and security/medical assist calls.
- Serves as a point of escalation for hospital security staff, de-escalating individuals verbally and physically as needed.
- Directs persons causing disturbances to exit the property calmly and respectfully.
- Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, retaining, and evaluating staff.
- Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Maintains competency as required for the department, including age-specific competencies, annual skill verification, and mandatory education.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications relevant to work functions.
- Knowledge of all medical center facilities, services, locations, and assigned personnel.
- Knowledge of organizational and human resource management standards and practices.
- Knowledge of management and leadership principles and practices.
- Skill in conflict diffusion and resolution.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Two (2) years of leadership experience in a healthcare or related security setting required.
Other Credentials / Certifications
- Completion of Management of Assaultive Behaviors training within six (6) months of hire.
Physical Requirements
Characterized as light work requiring exertion up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
