About the role

The Shift Supervisor oversees UC San Diego Health System security staff at East Campus Medical Center to promote a safe and secure environment for the UC San Diego Health System/Enterprise community. They provide leadership and ensure compliance with quality service goals, services standards, and Security & Medical Center policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee security staff to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Ensure compliance with quality service goals, services standards, and Security & Medical Center policy and procedures.
  • Assume duties in the Security Operations Center, including acknowledging and monitoring access control alarms, CCTV activity, radio communications, and infant security systems.
  • Manage daily shift schedules and conduct timely evaluations.
  • Maintain daily document reviews to ensure incident reports and daily activity reports are completed, thorough, and grammatically correct.
  • Manage employee/departmental equipment to ensure it is serviceable and well maintained.
  • Ensure monthly training compliance and attendance are within departmental/Medical Center standards and issue appropriate disciplinary action as needed.
  • Work various hours, days, shifts, on-call, and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.

Requirements

  • California Guard Registration.
  • IHAHSS Supervisory Certification within six (6) months.
  • Five (5+) or more years of supervisory/lead experience in security or security related field, such as corrections, law enforcement, or military.
  • Experience with and knowledge of regulations regarding hazardous materials, fire codes, building codes, and all other relevant safety requirements.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and make solid decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • MOAB or CPI.
  • Taser Certification.
  • Demonstrated public speaking skills, and the ability to lead training courses.
  • Experience in Healthcare/Higher Education.

Pay

Annual Full Pay Range: $73,800 - $131,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Schedule

Days, 8-Hour Shifts, Variable.
