About the Role
This is a part-time, non-exempt, non-union, hourly position reporting to the Security Management Team. The Security Supervisor leads Security Officers at Barclays Center, ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and assets while maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities
- Event Security:
- Uphold the Security Department’s mission to protect the safety and security of guests, employees, and assets with respect for dignity and legal rights.
- Resolve escalated security situations and provide warnings to guests violating venue policies.
- Assist with directional and informational inquiries from guests.
- Document all major and minor incidents appropriately.
- Represent Barclays Center and the Security Department professionally.
- Apply logical thinking to solve a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Perform varied and complex tasks efficiently, adapting to changing priorities without loss of composure.
- Staff Supervision:
- Deploy staff for events, assigning shifts, breaks, and necessary equipment.
- Train staff in basic guest service and security skills.
- Monitor staff interactions with guests, clients, artists/athletes, and employees to ensure a safe and secure experience.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Security employees.
- Deliver timely, constructive feedback on performance, both positive and corrective.
- Communicate escalated employee issues to the Security Management Team.
- Administer performance reviews, counseling, and disciplinary documentation as needed.
- Accept responsibility for the performance and conduct of the assigned security team.
- Exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff, and lead by example.
- 24/7 Building Security Supervision:
- Supervise 24/7 security posts (Loading Dock, Dean Admin, and Command Center).
- Conduct daily inventories and equipment checks (e.g., hand wands, radios, CCTV).
- Contact service providers and vendors to ensure equipment maintenance.
- Assist with updating the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all posts.
- Knowledge of the building’s Fire Alarm systems and safe evacuation procedures.
- Knowledge of ISS systems, access control, and visitor management systems.
- Enforce hourly building patrols conducted by Security Officers.
Requirements
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid NYS Security Guard Card License and F03 Fire Guard license.
- Previous security experience; experience in a sports/entertainment facility or Law Enforcement preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience supervising and leading subordinates.
- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain working relationships with building personnel, guests, visitors, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and employment verification.
- Strong teamwork etiquette and adaptability to changes in assignment per event.
- Maintain a high standard of grooming and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality for patrons, employees, and the company.
- Tasks are performed with moderate supervision.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and climb stairs for more than 4 hours.

Pay
$26.00 per hour.
