Security Service Technician

About the role

A Johnson Controls Service Technician alleviates customer concerns about security systems, advises on system statuses, and repairs or replaces burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, Card Access systems, and other security equipment. This role requires independent work from a remote location and provides solutions to improve facility efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring
• Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation
• Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs
• Cook up inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies
• Service and repair Commercial security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently
• Upsell opportunities and provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience installing and inspecting/servicing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras
• Excellent communication skills
• Electrical/Electronic background
• Valid driver's license
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

• Some college or technical school preferred
