Security Service Technician

About the role

The Security Service Technician will service and configure various security systems including Access Control, CCTV, Burglar Alarms, Intercom systems, and Telephone Entry Systems. This role requires troubleshooting, testing, and repairing systems to ensure they function properly.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customer personnel to develop relationships and provide training as needed.
• Use technical manuals and manufacturer support to troubleshoot problems.
• Examine systems to locate and fix issues such as loose connections or broken insulation.
• Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and security features.
• Service, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment.
• Feed cables through access holes and install fixtures.
• Adjust sensitivity of units based on room structures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Test and repair circuits and sensors.
• Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
• Provide responsive, professional, and diplomatic customer service.
• Answer customer calls and correspondence quickly and pleasantly.
• Communicate with customers in a friendly, professional, and patient manner.
• Immediately address any customer concerns and request the involvement of other Company personnel as required.
• Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to the Supervisor.
• Notify Supervisor or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalency is required.
• Electronic Trade School is preferred.
• 5 years of maintenance/installation & service experience is required.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems (Exacq, Milestone, Video Insight, Avigilon, etc.) and Access Control systems (Open Options, Software House, Amag, etc.) is beneficial.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office.
• Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
• Ability to pass drug screening and prove US employment eligibility.
