Security & Safety Specialist

Responsibilities
- Provides company-wide safety, health, technical and regulatory information/guidance.
- Manages the WI Safety program: including scheduling HIT meetings, ensures incidents are investigated, reports company safety results, monitors weekly safety reviews, and reviews new/relocated equipment.
- Reviews and audits company operations to maintain compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Conducts workplace health and safety testing, such as noise and chemical exposure testing, when required by safety regulations or team member concerns. Arranges for outside services when unable to conduct tests internally.
- Develops systems to track compliance with permits or licenses and other environmental requirements, and audit facility operations to verify compliance. Makes appropriate modifications to the permit or license if needed.
- Maintains the building fire protection systems by regular inspection and contracting outside services for repair, update, or inspection.
- Prepares and submits all required safety and environmental reports, such as OSHA safety reports, SARA, Hazardous Waste Generator reports, and Underground Storage Tank reports.
- Supports all safety and environmental audits and inspections by safety, environmental, insurance companies, and security agencies (BATF, DCMA, DSS).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS).
- 1+ years of experience leading EHS programs within a manufacturing environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations or proven ability to quickly learn such material.
- Must possess excellent people skills, computer skills, and ability to conduct one-on-one and group training.
- Availability to be on-call and respond to after-hour emergencies to other related events.
- Some travel may be required.
- Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
