Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Security Technician to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and customer training on assigned Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation projects of varying complexity.

- Act as the key technical interface for customer support, maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Mentor less-experienced staff and contribute to a dynamic, growing team.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of systems, including security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
- Serve as the primary technical support and training resource for customers, ensuring high satisfaction.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams to determine installation requirements.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
- Write non-routine programs of substantial variety and complexity for systems.
- Take ownership of onsite projects, ensuring safety, quality, and performance.
- Provide custom systems integrations, detailed upgrade planning, systems audits, consultation, and database management.
- Install, configure, and support network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
- Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
- Perform all work in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as company health and safety policies.
- Use troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
- Advise management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and installation techniques.
- Participate in developing customer presentations or new business development activities.
- Execute technical aspects of multiple projects, including preparation of deliverables such as submittals, shop drawings, training documentation, programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, and close-out documentation.
- Identify potential project risks, communicate them to appropriate parties, and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with Project Managers and/or Operations Managers to coordinate projects, supervise subcontractors, and recommend improvements.
- Mentor and train less-experienced staff, providing performance feedback to management.
- Perform other duties as requested or required.
Requirements
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure while meeting customer needs.
- Strong technical skills and experience with building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
- Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude, including the ability to read blueprints and perform advanced math calculations (e.g., area, velocity, resistance, voltage).
- Highly proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- College degree, trade school certification, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience installing and programming electronic security and/or fire alarm & life safety systems for enterprise-level customers.
- Certifications in at least one of the following systems: Genetec, Lenel, Brivo, DMP, Avigilon, Verkada, or EST.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Pay
The anticipated compensation for this position is $38–$45 per hour, depending on job location, department, skills, experience, certifications, and education.
