Security Project Manager
Work Requirements
The Project Manager must be a US Citizen, hold a Green Card, or be authorized to work in the US.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of project management experience in the IT security & compliance field
- 5+ additional years of IT professional experience
- Some domain knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS)
- Some understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including network security, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), data protection, cloud architecture, risk management, threat modeling, and defense-in-depth
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) within cloud platforms
- Some understanding of security risk frameworks and industry security standards relevant to cloud computing
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Job Description
The Project Manager will support the Security & Compliance department with multiple projects as it relates to implementing and securing cloud environments, overseeing security architecture, managing project plans and resources, and coordinating with the other teams (i.e., Applications, Big Data, Infrastructure, Business Solutions).
IT Leadership & Technical Alignment with the Business
- Ensure all team members are aligned on the business requirements, design documents, and any other technical requirements
- Maintain a strong understanding of both business and technical issues to manage resources and deliverables effectively
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure solutions meet operational and strategic needs
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and lead high-performing teams by leveraging individual strengths, technology, and organizational processes
- Cookordination with stakeholders across IT, operations, vendors, and compliance to ensure seamless execution
- Foster strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, exercising flexibility, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment across departments and leadership levels
Analysis & Communication
- Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to leadership
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and proactive identification of improvement opportunities
- Analyze and report project status, synthesizing complex information for decision-making
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with staff, management, and executives
Adaptability & Decision-Making
- Manage shifting priorities in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Make well-informed decisions under pressure, balancing strategic goals with operational realities
Top Daily Priorities
- Coordinating multiple IT groups (with shared resources) and vendors to ensure decisions are being reached and issues resolved
- Creating and managing the schedule, project lists (action items, issues, key decisions, etc.),
- Complete first level budget review
