About the role
We are looking for an experienced Security Operations Center (SOC) Specialist to join our team in Downtown Seattle. The SOC operates 24/7 using open-source material to find, research, and assess potential safety or security concerns to the client, employees, and community members.
Responsibilities
- Continuously identify, assess, and monitor enterprise security risks, providing timely and actionable information to business leaders to support critical decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective, best-in-class security programs and strategies.
- Monitor and respond to all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems and alarms within the designated area.
- Receive and respond to routine and emergency calls via phone, intercom, and two-way communication systems, providing clear direction and guidance during incidents.
- Coordinate and dispatch security rovers and patrols, receiving and assessing reports from field personnel.
- Document routine and critical incidents accurately using established reporting systems, logs, and shift reports.
- Assist in the response to major incidents impacting the client, including developing and refining protocols and crisis management practices.
- Escalate complaints, unusual activity, and critical events without delay to the Shift Supervisor, Account Manager, or Security Director.
- Maintain strict control and accurate logging of all Control Room equipment and keys, including sign-out and return tracking.
- Immediately report missing, damages, or inoperative equipment or systems (e.g., communications, alarms, CCTV) to management.
- Issue emergency notifications in accordance with site post orders.
- Provide recommendations to management for productivity improvements, cost reduction, physical security enhancements, and post order updates.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
- 2+ years of professional experience in customer service or security required.
- Intermediate to advanced computer / technology skills needed.
- Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a calm and professional manner.
- Must be able to conduct patrols throughout shift.
- Must have great attention to detail and the ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
- All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
