About the role
As a Security Officer Warehouse Screening Checkpoint in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Logistics & Distribution. You will help maintain a welcoming, orderly environment by monitoring access points, screening individuals and items according to site procedures, and reporting security-related concerns. You will remain visible to deter incidents while delivering clear communication and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access screening requirements, and emergency response activities.
- Screen individuals, packages, and/or property entering designated areas in accordance with facility procedures, documenting and reporting irregularities to site leadership.
- Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for personnel, visitors, and delivery-related traffic within the logistics and distribution location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the business, loading areas, and perimeter, while reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and security-related concerns.
Requirements
- A Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
