Security Officer Visitor Credentialing

About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location in Houston, TX, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and support visitors and employees with professional customer service. You will help maintain a secure environment through visible presence, clear communication, and timely reporting of security-related concerns. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule built using our Claim a Shift platform.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
- Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, manage visitor and contractor sign-in processes, and document entry and exit activity in accordance with site requirements.
- Screen incoming personnel, vehicles, and deliveries as assigned; report unauthorized access attempts, unusual activity, and policy concerns to the appropriate site contacts.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access-control areas, buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
