About the role
Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in Sterling, VA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, data center areas, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site requirements; report suspicious activity, damaged property, and maintenance concerns.
- Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence and supporting continuity of operations.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- Guard card or license is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
