About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor, vendor, and employee access in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or maintenance concerns accurately and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • Access control and x-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Skills
