Security Officer Unarmed Driver Perimeter Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Driver Perimeter Patrol in Roanoke, VA. The position involves serving and safeguarding clients in various industries such as retail/malls, conducting routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, and providing outstanding customer service. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, location‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate store personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Assist with access control, crowd management, and directions during busy shopping periods, special events, and emergency situations.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements (required for driving positions).
• Guard Card/License is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a background investigation in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local regulations.

Pay

$18.00 per hour

• Tuesday: 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Friday: 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Saturday: 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Sunday: 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM
