Security Officer Unarmed Alarm Response

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology location in Menlo Park, CA, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, respond to security-related concerns, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office spaces, common areas, parking facilities, and the exterior perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and reports.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and follow established escalation procedures.
• Complete detailed activity reports, communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, and support a professional, welcoming environment.

Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$31.00 / Hour

• Friday: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
• Saturday: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
