About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transit location in Brooklyn, NY, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. In this dynamic role, you will contribute to a caring, reliable team that puts people first, acts with integrity, and brings an agile, innovative approach to daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by following site-specific procedures and supporting security-related protocols at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, public personnel, and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, concourses, entrances, offices, parking areas, and/or perimeter locations to help deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points, observe passenger and employee activity, and document security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues according to post procedures.
- Assist with crowd management, directional support, and emergency response activities during service disruptions, special events, and/or high-traffic periods.
Requirements
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
