About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transit location in Salem, OR, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, observe and report suspicious activity, and provide courteous customer service and communication to riders, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and surrounding property for unusual activity, unauthorized access, and/or conditions requiring attention; report observations according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit locations and perimeter areas, which may include indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Document incidents, patrol activity, and other security-related observations accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site reporting requirements.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Tuesday: 01:30 PM - 11:30 PM
- Saturday: 01:45 PM - 09:30 PM
- Sunday: 02:00 PM - 08:30 PM
