Security Officer - Third Shift
About the Role
As a Security Officer Access Screening Specialist in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor access points, screen people and property, and support security-related operations through visible presence, routine patrols, and clear communication. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
- Screen individuals, packages, and/or property entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders and client-directed screening requirements.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns to site leadership as appropriate.
- Monitor designated screening points, help to deter unauthorized access, and document daily activities, inspections, and/or incident details in required reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and the perimeter, noting conditions that may require follow-up or additional security-related attention.
Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
Preferred Skills
- Access control and badge experience.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet.
- Loss prevention experience.
- X-ray screening experience.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
