Security Officer State Office

About the role

Allied Universal is currently hiring a Full Time Security Officer for a State Site in Boston, MA, Monday - Friday from 11 PM to 7 AM. The starting pay is $23.00 per hour, with paid orientation and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or public emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, roadways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Maintain access points, observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations according to site protocols.
• Prepare clear, accurate documentation of incidents, patrol activity, and/or notable observations, and support daily operations in a public-facing transportation environment.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
