About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location in Brooklyn, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain awareness of activity entering and leaving the location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervisors.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Wednesday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Thursday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
