Security Officer - Security - Day Shift Including Holidays and Rotating Weekends
About the role
The Security Officer provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. This is a full-time day shift position from 7:00am-3:00pm, including holidays and rotating weekends.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Monitor hospital grounds and facilities for safety and security
- Interact with patients, visitors, and employees to ensure a welcoming environment
- Respond to emergencies and incidents according to established protocols
- Perform routine patrols and inspections of hospital areas
- Secure hospital entrances and exits during non-business hours
- Document observations and actions in accordance with hospital policy
Requirements
- One year security experience within a hospital or related medical setting
- Valid driver's license
- Completion of 8 & 16 Hour Security Courses
- NYS Security License
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role and continued certification every two years
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer literacy

Pay
$23.42 - $24.05 hourly
