Security Officer/PRN- MUSC Leatherman Behavioral Healthcare Pavilion-5
MUSC Health Pee Dee Division is seeking experienced Security Officers for a PRN position at the new MUSC Leatherman Behavioral Healthcare Pavilion in Florence, SC.
About the role
A Security Officer is responsible for protecting and serving MUSC Health Pee Dee Division patients, staff, and visitors, in addition to monitoring and protecting facilities and assets. Security Officers monitor and operate access control systems, security camera systems, intercoms, two-way radios, telephones, and alarm systems.
Responsibilities
- Daily patrol of facilities and grounds
- Provide emergency assistance and response
- Interact with patients, families, visitors, law enforcement, and correctional officers
- Support MUSC Health staff with issues involving security and safety concerns
- Complete detailed notes based on observations
- Conduct security investigations and interviews
- Write detailed reports regarding incidents and events
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or 10 direct years of job-related experience
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience or appropriate preferred education requirements
- Valid driver’s license in the State of SC
- Completion of Handle with Care Crisis De-escalation course
- Completion of IAHSS Basic Certification within six (6) months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare security, corporate security, or law enforcement
About the Facility
The Leatherman Behavioral Health Pavilion will serve as a regional behavioral health center, including a combination of triage, crisis stabilization, telehealth, outpatient, and inpatient services. Features include:
- A rapid access center for walk-in triage and assessment
- Telepsychiatry services to strengthen access to psychiatric care
- Sixteen adult and four adolescent beds for crisis stabilization
- Outpatient adult and pediatric behavioral health clinics
- A 63-bed inpatient psychiatric unit for acute care, including transfer of 23 psychiatric beds from McLeod Behavioral Health Center in Darlington
Services include mental health care, addiction treatment, and therapy with individualized treatment plans.
