As an unarmed patrol officer at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, observe and report concerns, and provide welcoming service to patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from healthcare personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to identify and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations.
- Monitor access points and restricted areas, provide directions, and help manage visitor activity in accordance with location procedures.
- Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations through accurate written and/or electronic reports.
Requirements
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
- Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
