Security Officer - Patrol
About the role
As a Security Officer Patrol in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of loading areas, parking lots, building perimeters, access points, and other designated areas to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
- Maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and deliveries.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and prepare accurate reports as required.
- Monitor access to the facility by verifying credentials, directing authorized visitors and delivery personnel, and documenting entry and exit activity in accordance with site policies.
- Observe loading, trailer, and package handling areas for potential security-related concerns and report hazards, damage, suspicious activity, or policy violations to site leadership.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licenses required are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform patrol duties including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
