About the role
As an Access Control Officer supporting a utilities location, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors while supporting security-related procedures. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and contractor documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, vehicle, and access-related logs; issue and collect temporary credentials as directed by site policy.
- Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, gates, and access points to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Pay
$18.30 - $19.30 / Hour
Schedule
- Thursday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Friday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
